Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Abha Airport – Al-Muftaha Village – Art Street – Tuesday Market – Abha
Upon your arrival at Abha Airport, you will be welcomed by the fresh mountain air and the stunning landscapes that characterize this high-altitude city. Your tour begins at Al-Muftaha Village, a beautifully preserved heritage village that reflects the rich history and traditions of the Asir region. Here, you can wander through narrow stone alleys, admire houses decorated with intricate geometric designs typical of the area, and explore local art and crafts that tell the story of Abha’s past. Next, stroll along Art Street, an open-air gallery where local artists bring the village to life with vivid murals, sculptures, and handcrafted items. Later, visit the lively Tuesday Market (Souq Al-Thulatha), one of Abha’s oldest traditional markets. The air is filled with the aroma of fresh herbs, spices, and regional delicacies. The market is a feast for the senses: you will see colorful textiles, handcrafted jewelry, and local crafts, hear the bustle of vendors, and even taste fresh fruits and traditional snacks unique to the Asir region. Day 2: Abha – Jabal Sawda – Bees Tower Honey Refinery – Rijal Almaa – Abha
After breakfast, depart for Jabal Sawda, the highest peak in Saudi Arabia. At over 3,000 meters, Jabal Sawda offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Asir mountains, green valleys, and terraced landscapes. Don’t forget to greet the local baboons! Next, visit the Bees Tower Honey Refinery in Rijal Almaa, a unique local attraction where traditional honey harvesting techniques are still practiced. Learn about the ancient methods of honey extraction and refining, observe the artisanal work, and even taste some of the finest natural honey in the region, famous for its rich flavor and health benefits. Continue to the historic village of Rijal Almaa, renowned for its striking stone and mud-brick architecture that reflects the heritage of the Asir region. Day 3: Abha – Al Habala Park (with cable car) – Al Sahab Park – Abu Sarrah Palaces – Abha
After breakfast, transfer to Al Habala Park, home of the legendary Hanging Village. Centuries ago, the Asir Flower Men built their homes halfway up the cliffs, hidden from enemies and accessible only by ropes—a daring lifestyle that gave the village its name, Habala, which means “rope” in Arabic. Today, you can relive this story with an exciting cable car ride, descending the cliffs while enjoying stunning panoramic views. Explore the preserved stone houses and learn about the villagers’ unique traditions: farming, honey production, and floral crowns. Next, head to Al Sahab Park, a modern recreational space that combines nature and leisure. Stroll through its well-kept gardens, enjoy panoramic views of Abha city, and relax in a serene atmosphere surrounded by flowers and misty mountain air. Continue to the Abu Sarrah Palaces, an iconic historical site showcasing traditional architecture and the royal heritage of the Asir region. The palaces, with their intricate designs and tall structures, offer a glimpse into the lives of ruling families and the cultural significance of the region throughout history. Overnight stay in Abha.
Day 4: Abha – Departure from Abha Airport
After breakfast, transfer to Abha International Airport for departure.
